SLIM.flex in the world's largest particle accelerator
Intensive, verified quality tests have shown that SLIM.flex can withstand even the highest temperature stress and thus qualifies for use in highly demanding environments. There is a reason why SLIM.flex is installed – among many other places – in detectors of the world's largest particle accelerator.
SLIM.flex as high-tech cable harness
SLIM.flex technology allows high density, impedance defined or shielded signals in a very small space. Compared to conventional cable harnesses, up to 100 percent more signals are possible in half the installation space. Since there are no restrictions on signal routing and geometry in the design of the SLIM.flex cable harness, the cable harness can be designed in a wide variety of ways. Thanks to the universal layer structure, the number of flex layers can be changed as required during routing without changing the stackup – and without additional costs.

By manufacturing the “cable harness” using PCB technology, wiring errors – as found in conventional cable harnesses – can be ruled out. In addition, a reproducible, consistent arrangement of the signal routing is achieved.
The assembly time of the cable harness is drastically reduced by the use of preformed SLIM.flex and ZIF contacts also eliminate the need for soldering the cables or assembling connectors. A SLIM.flex cable harness can also be used as an integrated cable harness in applications with sensitive signals, for example for the smallest image sensors in endoscopes.
